Pastor Carlos Baca (Prince Avenue Hispanic Baptist Mission) and I leave for Barcelona, Spain this week to meet with born again believers who desire to plant a new church in the Barcelona area. The contacts are originally from Peru, as is Pastor Baca. WorldReach believes God is calling us to join Him in what He plans to do there.
Spain is overwhelmingly Catholic, with an increasing Muslim presence. Our desire is be used by God to reach people with the gospel - regardless of what they may claim as their current religion.
We know the gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. From this small group of believers who are obediently following the Great Commission, come the invitation to help them establish a born again, evangelical presence in their area. Leadership training will be part of our duties while we are there, as well as evangelism and other discipleship.
Please pray for Pastor Baca and I as we travel and minister with our brothers and sisters in Barcelona. Pray for those who will hear the gospel. Pray for the believers who desire to reach their friends and neighbors with the gospel. And pray for the protection from anyone who would try to stop what God wants to accomplish among His people.
I will send out updates from our travels as frequently as possible. All for now.

Preach the Word
The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy to "preach the word." These words of instruction to a young preacher were used to capture the focus of the "Preach the Word" conference held last week at Harvest Christian Fellowship, Riverside, CA. Pastor Greg Laurie is the pastor of that congregation, and his desire to exhort and encourage biblically based, expository preaching by men of God led him to once again sponsor this conference. Listen to my report on the conference and how God spoke to me through it by using our WorldReach Podcast tool to the right.

WorldReach Bible Institute to open campus in Romania
While here in Jibou, Romania, we have finalized plans to open another campus of the WorldReach Bible Institute. It will be in partnership with Jibou Baptist Church, and led by Pastor Teofil Mihoc.
Bible Training Centre for Pastors has been actively engaged in Romania for a number of years, so the curriculum is already available in Romanian. The program will initially offer a Pastoral Ministry Certificate. Those trained will then be teaching on satellite sites in surrounding villages.
Jibou Baptist Church has a history of training strong leaders who are active in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. Establishment of the WorldReach Bible Institute complements this strong history.
Classes begin the last weekend in November and will be held Friday evenings and Saturdays, allowing for twelve hours of classroom study per weekend.
Other WorldReach Bible Institute campuses are in Bogart, GA and Lima, Peru. The establishment of this new campus is another way we see God at work through WorldReach to mobilize and equip the church for global missions.
We appreciate all of your prayers for our team here in Romania and ask that you pray specifically for the baptismal service to be held Sunday morning. There will be many non-believers in attendance - a great opportunity for God to draw people to the cross.
